Highway 63 crash kills Winnipeg man

RCMP say the collision was caused when one semi truck crossed the centre line into oncoming traffic.

A crash on Highway 63, near Fort McKay, Alta., has killed a 38-year-old Winnipeg man.

"[It’s] due to a collision between two semi trailers," said Cst. Christina Wilkins.

Witnesses say that a southbound truck crossed the centre line south of Fort McKay and hit another semi-truck travelling in the opposite direction.

Police say the driver of the southbound truck was killed. His identity is not being released.

The driver of the other truck was not injured.

The cause of crash is still being investigated, but police say poor road conditions may have played a part.

The highway, which was closed for hours as RCMP cleaned up the debris, has now been re-opened.
