Almond alert issued for Lotte Choco Pies

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with allergies to almonds not to consume the Lotte brand Choco Pie.

Importer voluntarily recalling product distributed in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued an allergy alert for Lotte brand's Choco Pie after discovering there may be undeclared almonds in the product. (CFIA)

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people allergic to almonds not to consume the Lotte brand Choco Pie.

The importer, Uncle T Food Ltd. of Richmond B.C., is voluntarily recalling the affected product, which may contain almonds not declared on the label.

Only pies sold in 168-gram packages with Universal Product Code 8 801062 161881 and 336-gram packages with UPC 8 801062 160709 or 8 801062 16825 are affected.

The product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, but may also have been distributed in other provinces.

There have been no reported illnesses so far.
