Medicine Hat Police have arrested a man in connection with the disappearance of a 23-year-old woman who went missing last week.

Police say Amy Lenora Lewis was out with friends the evening of June 11th and reported as missing two days later. Her vehicle was later found in a motel parking lot.

Jerrison Herve Stopanski, 34, of Medicine Hat is charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Police have yet to locate Lewis but suspect foul play is involved.

Investigators also have reason to believe an area in or around the South Saskatchewan River may provide evidence in connection with her disappearance.

Police are searching the area.
