Flood warning in Canmore downgraded

While some Canmore residents in Alberta are still dealing with flooded basements there is a bit of relief on the way as water levels continue to fall along the Bow River.

High stream flow advisory remains in affect for the Bow River near Calgary

While some Canmore residents in Alberta are still dealing with flooded basements there is a bit of relief on the way as water levels continue to fall along the Bow River.

Although rain remains in the forecast, provincial officials have downgraded the situation near Canmore and Banff from a flood watch to a high stream flow advisory.

The high stream advisory also remains in effect for the Bow near Calgary.

The communities of Banff, Lake Louise and Canmore have been building berms and putting out sandbags along some of the threatened banks over the last few days.

The Old Man River basin is no longer a concern for officials with water levels returning to normal.

However, the Red Deer River is still rising and the Little Red Deer River remains under a flood warning.

There is also a high stream flow advisory for the South Saskatchewan River basin.
