A 30-year-old Hobbema woman will be in Wetaskiwin court Tuesday to face a second-degree murder charge in a stabbing on New Year's Eve.

A 30-year-old Hobbema woman will be in Wetaskiwin court Tuesday to face a second-degree murder charge in a New Year's Eve stabbing.

The woman is accused of stabbing her 34-year-old common-law husband numerous times in their home on the Samson Cree Nation.

Five children under the age of 12 were in the home at the time, said RCMP Const. Perry Cardinal.

"There are children involved in this family," he said. "We actually have our family violence worker out from our detachment working with major crimes."
